Chalkboard Kitchen
This custom kitchen features a unique, modern aesthetic that nods to the previous iteration of the space with the preserved chalkboard wall. Trusses were repaired and reengineered to shape the space into an open area with improved flow that plays to the dynamics of the home. Now, the family can easily gather to collaborate on meals or entertain guests. Plumbing was coordinated to add a pot filler and in-island sink, a remote range hood fan was installed to optimize workflow, and space was made for a roll-out cabinet to increase workspace on the fly. Custom cabinets feature the contemporary styling of frosted glass doors and gaskets to seal out dust. The glasswork tile backsplash remains clean and uninterrupted with help from undermounted electrical outlets and task lighting in the floating shelves and cabinetry, while the above-shelf lighting enhances the overall visual appeal of the space. The addition of a walk-in pantry and mudroom keep the kitchen clutter-free and lighter on traffic.
